how do u get started playing poker for money. not online. is there any other way save for a casino?

Home games or local free games are good idea. Where I live bars hold games few nights a week. Advantage is players tend to be less skilled and no rake or house fees for home games/free games.
These games are illegal contained by most states but if you don't have mass amount of people or money I don't think you hold to worry much. I started playing at home game with some friends after moved to online.

You can find some local Charity Poker Tournaments in your area, sometimes they even have freerolls you can play surrounded by. Many of these sites will offer some tournaments you can buy in cheaply, and a lot of the time thwy will enjoy ring (cash) games for the players who bounce out of the tournaments. And the competition will be a bit easier than in the casinos. Once you start to get to know some of the other players, you can find games at other spots too.
Just be careful where on earth you play!
