How do I verify that someone at yahoo.fr is credible. Concerns large sum of money and an e-mail received?
I received an e-mail from oceanic lottery stating I had won a large sum of money. There is a fiduciary agent with a yahoo.fr e-mail address (ronald_weiner02(a)yahoo.fr). I would like to assure this is on the up and up and not just some attempt to scam me out of money or whatever. Is there somewhere I can do this? or if necessary report a scam?
Answers:
Tell them to wire you the money directly, after deducting the charge they want you to pay up front. DO NOT give them a bank account number, social security number or your address. Don't wait for the money or spend it it before you get it. Report the scam to Yahoo and to the Federal Trade Commission and Federal Communication Commission. Just google FCC and FTC.
If you want some fun, ask them to confirm where you bought the lottery ticket, and how many you bought at what price?
SCAM.
Okay lets look at this logically.
Did you ever enter an oceanic lottery?
Does the name "ronald weiner" sound legitimate to you?
These are all scams dont do it
Sorry its scam
I have seen this 100's of times before.scam!
never trust email like that, its a scam.its advertising gimmick to suck people into the program.beware of such email.if its genuine they will send you a written notice thru mail.
This is a scam report it to Yahoo.
Don't fall for it. It's screams SCAM.
What is your problem? Why would a prince from a country you cant even pronounce pick YOUR email from the blue and offer you money? The FBI has a special section for all this; go to: www.fbi.org, copy and paste the email. This is terrorist activity.
no way this is just a rip off
Did you buy a ticket in that particular lottery? If you did it would be alright. If you didn't it is most definitly a scam. People pose as anyone they chose and make it near impossible for any one to locate them, unless you have the resources to do so. Delete the email and think nothing more of it unless your educating others by warning them. Best regards Daniel
scam , run a mile
I got a Scam like this too. I noticed it was a scam because I had not entered a lotto, and it was for euros, and I'm in America! They'll ask you for you bank account to put the money into it, but they'll just suck you dry.
These scams have been getting air time on ABC, and ect.
SCAM.
You cannot win money on a lottery unless you bought a ticket. This is a widely perpetrated scam. You will be asked to send money up front in order to claim your "winnings". You will never see that payment (or any others you might be asked to make) again.
You could report the sender of the email (it won't really be 'Oceanic Lottery', whoever they are) to your local police. I can't find a reliable site to report such things to, I'm afraid. There are some sites which are a thinly disguised attempt to make money from people's fear of being scammed!
That is a SCAM, do not answer that email. I have been received a lot of the same emails, always the same. You cannot report them also, but, just ignore him.
Do not get trapped. They are all frauuds. I give a link below: Go to this and find how you are taken for a ride:--
